finding your own style is like finding the right pair of panties, they gotta be super cute/sexy BUT also hella comfortable. the only difference is that style is something you CANT buy/purchase from your local retail stores , style is something OWNED!
its like a DNA thing, you know, like everyone has it. style, is actually a whole combination of things if you really think about it..
style is:
- a feeling (physical & emotional)
- a statement
-ever changing
- universal
its
-everything!

1- a feeling....oooh we about to get deep in 'ish
so, style for some including myself , can sometimes be based off of our mood, our health, our job/career, the weather and basically who we are as a person. everything we do, believe it or not or even knowingly or not, has purpose to it, in fashion for example, the way we may/ may not button that top button on your blouse is a personal choice to show/ or not show cleavage. some things however, are just methodical, we do it so much we don't even realize that we're doing it, like always wearing that same hairstyle, or sneakers, or purse due to comfortability and muscle memory. whether you believe it or not, style has a lot to do with who we are and how we are whether it be long term or temporary.

2-a statement.... eh hem excuse me
ever been somewhere and immediately you see someone come in looking amazing, eye catching, saucy dressed to the muthaf**kn T, yeah that's called making a statement honey, and those don't only have to be made at fashion shows! style allows you to be yourself and dream out loud. confidence is the key to statement making, and only you can provide that for yourself. the problem most of us have is that we are too worried about what and who so and so's going to say or think, when you dress, it should NEVER be out  society and "them", it should solely be about YOU.
BOOM! bump the world and their closed minded opinions filled with underlying hate and judgment due to the lack of love and knowledge they wish they possessed. Whew! sorry sometimes you gotta go in.
but seriously, take pride in your appearance what you project is what people will see. so do you, and rock those daisy dukes that make your cheeks show
and where those 6inch stilettos even though you can barely walk in them, practice makes perfect ma ma..
oh and wear that bright and bold color lipstick that makes your lips standout, hell they need to hear loud and clear anyway
make a statement!

3- what's in is out and what's out is in... get it..got it...good!
style and fashion although two different aspects share something in common. they're both ever changing and also very much so recurrent. in the fashion world what you see now on runways and magazines has been decided on before you even knew it was a style/ trend, and the crazy thing is although throughout the years the styles have changed, they have only been altered to fit the times & trends. think about fashion trends like
 1920s
vintag.es
1950s
vintag.es

1970s
pinterest

1980s
voice-online.uk.co

1990s
pinterest

2000s
buzzfeed.com

present
pinterest

fashion and style has done some reinventing as we can see in each picture, throughout the decades each style is just a reVamp of the last. style is reflective of the times as well, just think about recent trends when viewers went to see The Black Panther, an up rise in black culture and fashion was catapulted to the top, creating a trend whether temporary or not.

4- the art of style is for everybody.. simply universal
like stated previously, style is something that everyone possesses regardless of race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, and DNA makeup. it's something you have within, like a secret talent or 6th sense. even if you have yet to establish yourself in the fashion/ style world... you got it! like the cooties

5-..it's everything
how can express this enough... style is within EVERYTHING!
meriam-webster definition for Style defines the word as:

Style- a distinctive manner of expression

everyday we express ourselves through verbal and non-verbal interactions, facial expressions and yes even through what we choose to wear.

Now that you have a sense of Style..  get it?? ..anyways now that you have a sense of what style is, discover yourself , see what styles and trends interest you and even see the ones that don't. finding what makes you happy and sometimes coming  out of your comfort zone is the perfect remedy for creatively reInventing yourself.
