Thrifty Thursdays
As promised, your Thrifty Thursday Guide.
Ever wanted to know how to thrift, when to thrift, and where to thrift?
Honestly, there are so many techniques and answers to these questions, but for the sake of time I will cover the key points.
First off let me say, anyone who knows me knows
THRIFTING IS LIFE
I find the most amazing finds anytime I thrift, and always have a great time doing it ... it helps that I always walk away satisfied each time ...and you can too!
Some Major Key Pointers:
1- when thrifting DO NOT GET OVERWHELMED (easier said then done)
2- give yourself time and space (personal that is)
3- if permitted, bring your own large recycled bag(s) or shopping cart
4- arrive early for any HUGE sales as they may be time sensitive
5- dress comfortably and bring cash
6- eat good (nothing to heavy, but energizing)
7- come with your team (people who enjoy the thrift)
8- but, it's okay to go alone
9- Personal Tip- try not to go in with high expectations just vibe it out (peep the difference when you do)
10- have a good time!
When to Thrift:
Monday
Tuesday
Wednesday
Thursday
Friday
Saturday
Sunday
ANY DAY
ANYTIME
.SERIOUSLY.
Literally everyday depending on which Thrift store you go to, there will be a sale/ discount(s) going on.
GUARANTEED
for example:
"all green & yellow tags are 50%"
"all clothing 50% off"
"today only everything $1"
" furniture buy one get one FREE"
"all babies items 75% off"
etc..
Deals like these get better.. trust me that's not even the half of the deals I've partaken in or witnessed.
However, make sure you always ask about any in-store sales/discounts, sometimes they are not posted. Also, most (if not all) Mom & Pop Thrift stores [ thrift stores locally owned ], have weekly deals and are sometimes willing to negotiate prices.
Typically, I personallbecause most people are at work and school, which in turns gives me more options and more space to myself. But, I won't ever pass up a day to thrift honey, like I said before

Where to Thrift:
The part you all have been waiting for, my personal top list of Thrift(y)/ ReSale Stores
(be mindful locations may vary)
My Top (8) Thrift(y)/ReSale Stores
Value Village
Americas Thrift
Rugged Wearhouse
Plato's Closet
Last Chance Thrift
Park Ave Thrift
Rag-o-Rama
City Thrift
These are literally my top faves. They all have great prices and more than half listed, have deals each day of the week!
All 8 of these retail havens are located within Georgia, and a few like Rugged Wearhouse, Plato's Closet, and Rag-o-Rama can be found in other states, for my non-local FFF Fans.
Need to make some extra cash while your at it,
K.Fuentes gotcha covered..
Out of the Top 8, there are 2 ReSale Venues you can shop and sell your gently used clothing, shoes and accessories.
Rag-o-Rama
Plato's Closet
Both hot spots have awesome opportunities to find amazing brands and styles all while making some extra cash.
Here's How:
Plato's Closet- a resale venue geared towards tweens/ teens/ and young adults that sell top name brands for less, they receive there inventory from you.. the customer. All inventory received must be washed and clean, thoroughly dry..no stains, odors, holes, tears, and discoloring. all items accepted must be within the past 1yr or 1.5yr in style,
so no older styles
for example: it's currently 2018 so they would be looking for stylish items from mid 2016 - current. The pay out is dependent on what's accepted by their Buyer during the sorting process, and all items are placed into the computer system that generates the price & quote. Any items accepted (shoes, clothing, accessories..) are priced 50-70% OFF of the current overall Retail Value, and you as the customer get back about 30% of what the item is priced for in-store. They accept all seasons, everyday and there are multiple locations
throughout the US. Each works the same however, they are a Franchise so every place may vary as far as inventory needs, limit of items you can bring in, and some do check I.D. for safety reasons, so make sure you call your nearest Plato's Closet prior to going so that you know what to expect and how they work.

Rag-o-Rama- pretty much works the same however their pay out can be in cash or with store credit. Great right! Yesss
The only difference is that they typically offer more in store credit than they do in the cash pay out. Rag-o-Ramas venue is absolutely awesome, the funky music and cool design compliment their inventory. They have everything from the subtle casual brands and styles to the outlandishly creative costumes and get-ups, and of course everything in between. The same items they sell are amazingly the same items they accept.Rag offers more of a diverse list of what they accept and they offer more depending on the condition, style, and brand. Vintage, retro, and costumes, shoes, and accessories work well here, and if you're trying to get some dope & authentic brands and pieces off your hands, they're the go to guys... Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabbana, Dooney & Bourke, Chanel etc..
Whether or not you're there to shop or sell, Rag-o-Rama is just a cool place to visit and try on so really timeless and cool pieces.

Fashion and style can be attained without spending a crazy amount of money, you shouldn't have to miss out on amazing trends and now you won't have to.
Happy Shopping Thrifty Thrifters.
